Newspaper Logo

Logo designs for Newspaper assignment

These were my first designs for my 'CLC Ltd.' logo. For these I missed out the 'Ltd' bit so that needed to be changed. I decided to go with the bottom left design and use that font.
This was my next design. I used a rectangle for the background and used black, grey and white gradient to get the blended effect. I also added the 'Ltd.' in the same font style as the Clc.

This is my final design for my logo. I changed my background shape to a circle which I think looks much more effective. I also changed the 'Ltd.' to a smaller and more basic font as it is less important. Also I used the 'Text Path' tool to make the words around the outside of the circle go all the way around.

KATE MOROSS - Hand made C.V

This is my handmade C.V I made inspired by Kate Moross. I started off by hand drawing the design in pencil on A4 paper. I then went over the outlines in black pen so it would show up more clearly when scanned into the computer. Once it was scanned into the computer I opened up the image into illustrator. After it was loaded up on illustrator I used the 'live paint bucket' tool to fill in my drawing with colours and also creating the colours and gradients for some of the parts of the image for example the lily and also boomtown.

Kate Moross

Kate Moross is a designer, illustrator and art director based in London.  She is well known for her typography illustrations. Her greatest achievements include a nationwide billboard campaign for Cadbury's, a signature clothing range for Topshop, illustrations for Vogue magazine and illustrations for Ray-Ban. She is currently 27 years old and is based at 'STUDIO MOROSS' where she is director. Her main influences are three sided shapes, illegible typography and freeform lettering.

This is one of my favourite illustrations by Moross. It was designed for Bestival and I really like the way it is all grouped in the centre and all the shapes and cartoon images work well with the colour scheme.

Newsletter/magazine template

This is my template I created using inDesign. I used lines (3pt) to create columns for the text. I also used drop shadows behind the text titles and the image at the bottom to make it more visible  To create the background colour I used the rectangle tool and then filled it in with the colour I wanted and made it more transparent so the colour would be less vibrant.
